The SmartUnit is net made of rope on which the bi-valves settle and grow. It is suited for growing full market size mussels or purely growing seed through the nursery face. The type of rope, its diameter and mesh size depends on expected species to farm and harvest as well as the environment, such as currents and available feed. Therefore we wok in close cooperation with you in order to design the SmartUnit that will bring your the best harvest.
The mesh gets its buoyancy from PE-Pipe and has bottom weights to keep it vertical in the water column. It is designed in such way that it moves smoothly through the water, even at high energy.
Depending on your site, we will design the length and depth of the SmartUnits, and their distribution in the water. We have many years of experience from all types of environments. Trust us!
